THIS is what Hypomania looks like. See he's a bit excitable but is very much in control. When he loses his thread he usually finds it again. He talks of crazy ideas, whereas a manic person would see crazy ideas as perfectly rational. He talks about wanting to spend lots of money, says he has no money, then drops in the fact that he has enough for a trip to Colorado. See: self-control. The difference between hypomania and full mania is control.
This guy is funny. He's a bit hypomanic here:~
Citalopram is Cipramil, an SSRI which you shouldn't really take if you're HYPOMANIC.

Bock auf Sex?
Specially posted up for Anna Grace in Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA.
"Do you want to have sex?" Who says the Germans have no sense of humour? This is German TV comedy. About sex, of course. You don't need to speak German to follow any of this.

Bipolar disorder
This Canadian woman is lying on the street at night talking to camera in the midst of what she says is a manic episode (looks like there's a goodly portion of attention-grabbing going on too "I'm crazy" and all that...)
This is medicated mania; she's still rabbitting away 19 to the 12 though!
If this is mania we're all cyclothymic. Come on man, this guy is in a perfectly ordinary frame of mind. No sign of racing speech, thought derailment, grandiosity, elevated mood or irritability. In short no evidence of even mild hypomania.
He's supposed to have cyclothymia, which is so mild you only get subclinical depression and subclinical mania. In other words totally normal mood swings that only a real hypochondriac would ever feel the need to medicate.
Oh I know why this guy is so obviously losing his mind: he's just had a Red Bull "sugar free of course; God knows what would have happened if he'd had it with sugar". Oh he'd have had a psychotic episode for sure. Sucrose is well known for inducing severe affective episodes. On Mars.

Spare the rod and spoil the criminal..?
LAW AND ORDER: LET'S HAVE A HEATED DEBATE. Should they bring back the lash for burglars, muggers, rapists and child abusers?
Filmed in a Malaysian prison, this shows an individual getting 20 lashes (on top of a prison sentence) for rape.
It's supposed to be pretty gruesome. His backside is torn open. If I was the victim of serious crime I'd be well pleased if this happened to the offender.
WARNING don't watch if the sight of blood and gore apalls you. And be warned, the still only shows about a third of the way into it.
I tried to find a less gory one but ended up with the same one twice. The first one goes black and white for some reason, but it's less blurry.
Ukh. Well it is pretty nasty. I heard the Tory party want all this. Or they want it back in schools. Anne Widdecomebe wanted it back, I believe.
It was never done quite this viciously at school, where I only remember 3 kids getting caned. Most corporal punishment was done with paddles or shoes and caning was never done on the bare bum. Then again nobody committed rape at my school.
In my view this punishment serves the rapist right.
Please share your comments and opinions below. Should whipping be brought back for burglars and sex offenders? If someone stole my plasma screen TV I'd be delighted to see them get 20 strokes. If my daughter got raped I'd be even more pleased if the bastard who did it got soundly whipped. It's just a shame he doesn't scream more. They're obviously not beating him hard enough.

Documentary on Li Bai 李白 (aka Li Po), Tang Dynasty poet. Considered the greatest of China's golden age of lyric poets. Mandarin with Chinese (simplified) subtitles.

I'm studying Chinese, but I think it will be quite some time before I can follow this:
